چکیده
A low-cost spectrum analyzer is presented, based on a commercial software defined radio and an open-source application package. Fundamentals regarding the receiving operation its sensitivity are along with measurements, of two 8 12-bits models. An application, run within GNU Radio, deployed to overcome hardware analog-to-digital converter limitation monitor wide bandwidths. Results shown for different frequency ranges, 200 MHz bandwidth.

A GNU Radio-based IEEE 802.15.4 Testbed
We present a Software Defined Radio (SDR) based IEEE 802.15.4 transceiver testbed for GNU Radio. Our testbed is Open Source and fully interoperable with off-the-shelf TelosB sensor motes and the Contiki sensor mote operating system, from the physical layer to the network stack. The testbed can be setup and configured easily via a graphical user interface and applications can interface with the ...
متن کاملHigh-Performance SDR: GNU Radio and the IBM Cell Broadband Engine
Software-Defined Radio (SDR) allows the signal processing components of a wireless device to be implemented in a reconfigurable processor. Recent research has focused on using general-purpose processors (GPPs) for performing signal processing in SDRs. While older GPPs lacked the processing power required for implementing many of the modern, commercial, digital waveforms, newer GPPs offer promis...
متن کاملWideband versatile radio-frequency spectrum analyzer.
Operation of a wideband, versatile optical spectrum analyzer for radio-frequency (RF) signals is demonstrated. The device is based on spectral hole burning (SHB). The demonstration features 2.3-GHz instantaneous bandwidth, 500-kHz resolution, and a 32-dB dynamic range. A true RF signal, transferred to the optical carrier with the help of a Mach-Zehnder modulator, is analyzed with optical carrie...
متن کاملA GNU Radio Based Cognitive Signal Identification and Classification Platform
-In the US the commercial dawn of unlicensed wireless products based on cognitive radio technology is anticipated to begin in 2008 when the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will issue rules and regulations for low power operation in the UHF TV Spectrum. Viable products will undergo a rigorous regime of testing to demonstrate their ability to coexist on a non-interfering basis with existi...
متن کاملDemonstration of a radio-frequency spectrum analyzer based on spectral hole burning.
Spectral hole-burning (SHB) technology is considered for >10-GHz instantaneous bandwidth signal-processing applications. In this context we report on what is believed to be the first demonstration of a SHB microwave spectrometer. A set of gratings engraved in a SHB crystal is used to filter one sideband of the optically carried microwave signal. The setup is confined to narrow-bandwidth operati...
